Resources for Adoptees:

Country-of-Origin Based Programs + Events

For an intercountry adoptee exploring their identity and story, birth search programs by country of origin can be incredibly valuable.

These programs can offer a vital link to a past that might otherwise remain obscured, providing access to records, documents, and information about their birth family and cultural background. Understanding your country of origin can help adoptees piece together their personal history and gain insights into the social, cultural, and familial contexts they were born into.

This knowledge not only aids in forming a more complete sense of self but also fosters a deeper connection to their heritage. Birth search programs can facilitate meaningful connections with biological relatives or communities, helping adoptees bridge gaps between their past and present.
